While other firms may be looking for the path of least resistance, GES has launched into 2024 prepared for obstacles – obstacles for our clients and obstacles for our company.  It’s all part of our 2024 strategy of finding opportunities from obstacles.  Every obstacle that we can maneuver through or around will help make both our clients and GES more successful.

For years we have prided ourselves on making our clients more successful by taking the time to learn the nuances of their projects. Now we are diving even deeper, asking what obstacles our clients believe will keep them from achieving their goals as easily as possible.

For some clients it may be as simple as being strategic about our communication, recognizing large or select groups of people needing to always be in the loop.  Other clients may have tight footprints required to complete a project or very short windows of opportunity to accomplish specific tasks.

Turning these obstacles into opportunities will require our team to make these deep dives into our clients’ projects before we even begin the work. We see this as vital to achieve our mission statement of making our clients successful.

Best Firm to Work For

Internally, GES has many of the same obstacles as other firms and industries.  Being recognized as a “Best Place To Work” provides an advantage with recruitment and retention, but we view this as only the starting point.  We are taking a more active role in encouraging the professional development of our individual staff members.

We have launched our own 360 Leadership Academy where a core group of our team members will gain leadership skills to help advance not only their careers, but also their own personal development.  With a curriculum that includes accountability, dealing with adversity, and creating a work/life balance, we will be developing the next generation of leadership for our firm while retaining some of the brightest and most talented people in the industry.

Outside of the 360 Leadership Academy we will be more involved in the formal education of our staff.  This will involve identifying potential certifications for many of our team members to achieve, which will provide greater value for our clients and financial opportunities for those gaining the certificates.

At the collegiate level, we will continue to develop and refine our Deep Dig Rotational Internship Program, providing real world, well-rounded experiences for future engineers as they prepare to enter our industry.

Our vision has been to be one of the premier firms in the southwest where the best and brightest in the industry want to work.  These efforts will become our next steps toward that goal.

Obstacles? What obstacles?  Where others see obstacles, we only see opportunities to better ourselves and make our clients more successful in 2024 and beyond.
