Administrative Assistant. GES is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Assistant performs all secretarial and clerical duties, as needed for all staff members. He or she mains the daily flow of document and data processing, and communication into and out of the office. Ideally, candidates will have at least 3 years of administrative assistant experience.
Engineering Staff Professional. As a Staff Professional at GES, you will assist civil engineering projects by performing site reconnaissance, subsurface explorations, laboratory tests, research, interpretation of geological data, geotechnical calculations/evaluations, production of geotechnical reports and letter, and occasional construction materials testing and observations. The ideal candidate will have AutoCAD/GIS experience. Educational requirements: Bachelor’s in engineering from an accredited four year college or university.
Entry Level Field and Lab Technician. GES is accepting applications for a full-time Field & Laboratory Materials Technician. The Field and Laboratory Field Technician is expected to perform all aspects of field observations and field/lab testing in conformance with GES, Inc., quality standards and client schedules. The Field & Laboratory Materials Technician performs testing on construction materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt and other specialized materials. He or she is expected to coordinate all activities with the lab supervisor, project manager and program manager.
Geologist. GES is accepting applications for a full-time Geologist. Geologists on staff at GES are assigned specific tasks on the project team, and are expected to use their geologic background, education, and common sense to resolve the problems and tasks they are assigned. They will perform geologic logging, soil classification, geophysical studies, monitoring well installation, soil and groundwater sampling, and preparation of environmental and geologic reports in conformance with GES standards and client schedules.
Special Inspector. GES is accepting applications for a full-time ICC or AWS special inspector who has at least a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience performing structural inspections on construction materials such as soils, masonry, concrete and welding. The ideal candidate will have experience performing field testing and observations related to Chapter 17 of the International Building Code and with the Clark County Building Department technical guidelines. The essential job functions of a special inspector include: performing observations and testing per the related technical guidelines; writing detailed reports summarizing observations and testing; communication of results to project managers, clients, contractors and design professionals; organizing work and managing time efficiently and effectively; and showing commitment as a team player to help the company and others achieve desired goals. The selected candidate shall have a high school diploma, possess a Nevada driver license or have the ability to obtain one, a clean driving record and possess (1) or more valid ICC or AWS certifications in Soils, Masonry, Reinforced Concrete, Welding, or Commercial building.
Geotechnical Engineer. GES is accepting applications for a Geotechnical Engineer with at least 4 years of experience. Must have a B.S. in Engineering and local experience preferred. Typical duties consist of planning, designing, and directing geotechnical engineering or construction testing/inspection projects by performing the following:
- Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical data to plan and design projects
- Perform geotechnical related analysis and calculations
- Prepare routine reports including geotechnical, selected backfill, pad certification, etc.
- Serves as a project manager on a variety of projects
- Marketing and client relations
- Mentors and trains staff
To perform this job successfully, the selected candidate must have the ability to work well with others and individually. Must be able to develop working relationships with clients and participate in professional organizations, etc. Candidates should be a registered professional civil engineer.
