Client: Southern Nevada Water Authority

The project consisted of two channel gradient control structures within the Las Vegas Wash, which are 900 feet wide, 500 feet long and 9 feet tall. The gradient control structures consisted of heavy rock, about 2 to 4 feet in average size, with sheet piles to depths of about 13 to 16 feet at the crest and toe to resist hydrologic forces and hinder scour. Our scope of services included performing geotechnical borings, laboratory tests and engineering evaluations including seepage and piping, settlement, slope stability and liquefaction.
